UK Weather Summary
The UK Weather Summery pop-up will disappear after 30 Seconds, however if you wish to close the summary before then, you can tap the ‘X’ in the top right corner or the Waypoint logo with the words ‘CLOSE’ at the bottom.
To select a weather forecast near your location, make sure that you have enabled location settings, once you have a good GPS lock, you will see a pulsing blue dot, this is your location.
Next select a Dark Blue pin nearest to you see the weather forecast, you can also move around the map with your finger to see other locations. Pinching apart or double tapping zooms into the map and pinching in zooms out. Alternatively you can tap the list icon to see all the locations available.
Once you have selected a forecast you can save it as a favourite (more about favourites here), saving a favourite means that when you next open the weather section you see it at the very top above all the other weather options.
The forecast gives you 3 days worth of weather data at 3 hour resolution and Synoptic Chart gives you 32 slides at 3 hour resolution.
Temp = Air Temperature in °C
Sea = Temperature feels like at sea
Wind = Wind Speed in Knots
Dir = Wind Direction
Gust = Wind Gust in Knots
HSIG = Swell Hight in metres
Rain = Precipitation in millimetres
Cld% = Percentage of Cloud Coverage
Hu…= Relative Humidity in Percentage (explained in more depth here)
Visi = Visibility in miles
mb = Pressure in millibars
Weather Icon Key
The App will tell you the date and time (UTC) that the last forecast was fetched. To see a Shipping forecast either tap one of the Dark Blue pins on the map or scroll through the list.
To make sure the alerts shown on this page are up to date, pull down with your finger on the screen and then release this refresh the information shown. Each alert has the description, location and date and time (GMT) of the alert.
